Repairs at Woods Canyon Lake Prompt Draw Down
The Arizona Game and Fish Department plans a draw down of Woods Canyon Lake on the Mogollon Rim starting September 2 due to golden shiners and a leaky outlet valve. The shiners crowd trout, reducing recreation value and raising maintenance costs. Rotenone will be used to remove the shiners and renovate the outlet valve. If weather cooperates, lake should be fishable by next spring with possible restocking before freeze up.
