Payson Town Hall Move Hindered by Mortgage Debate
Payson officials halted plans to relocate Town Hall amid a potential $52,000 mortgage and bond funding uncertainty. The council will pursue a feasibility study but will not proceed without voter approval or bond funding, as current funds and encumbrances impede the project. Former Mayor Pettet urged against the move while consultant Mac McCreary estimated upgrading costs at $30,000 to $40,000 in addition to purchase price.
