Forest Service agrees to coordinate Payson land trades
The U S Forest Service will work with the Town of Payson on a comprehensive Master Development Plan. Mayor Willard Taylor and Ranger Hugh Thompson said a Friday Albuquerque meeting with eight Forest Service representatives was successful and opened the door to future land exchanges within Payson.

Backhoe Breaks Underground Line Knocks Out Payson Phone Service
A backhoe severed a two inch underground feeder near Circle K in Payson North disrupting Mountain Bell service for about three hours. Roughly 400 phones across Payson Ranchos McLane Road and areas west of the Beeline Highway were affected before repair crews restored service at 1 15 p.m. No emergency services were disrupted.
