Roosevelt Gits Wounded In Milwaukee Shooting
Colonel Roosevelt was shot in Milwaukee while en route to a Coliseum speech. The bullet pierced his right breast but he continued to the hall, delivered part of his address, and was later taken to hospital in Chicago. Doctors say the wound is serious but not fatal. all speaking dates are cancelled pending his recovery.

Portia Club Reports Busy Year With Plans and Donations
The Portia Club held its third meeting of the year with strong attendance and active committees from five to twelve members. Members discussed a Saturday class by Miss Cree in domestic science at the high school, library upgrades in the new city hall, and a potential new piano. The club plans a Guest Day and will collect canned fruit for the Roner s Home in Boise, while thanking local growers for Payette exhibit support.

Christian Church Plans Sunday and Wednesday Bible Study
The Christian Church announces Sunday morning Bible School and worship at 11 o clock, a Sunday evening service at 7 30, and a Wednesday 7 30 prayer and study meeting with Holy Communion on the second Sunday. Paysene Sinker Dies In Payette After Ill Health
Mrs Levi Sinker of Payette wife of Levi Unker died Sunday afternoon after a long illness. Born March 13 1843 in Illinois she lived in Iowa before moving to the Payette Valley in 1907. She joined the Baptist church early then became a Methodist devoted to church work. Survived by husband two children twenty three grandchildren one great grandchild and a sister. Funeral at M E church Wednesday at 10 am with interment in Riverside cemetery. Services at the grave conducted by W T Sherman Post and W B C No 17.

Young Salt Lake Man Stricken With Stroke in Caldwell
George Truckfield an eighteen year old from Salt Lake City fell seriously ill in Payette after a bout of paralysis. He had traveled from Weiser and stayed with Mareball Skargs before collapsing from a severe apoplectic stroke. His parents were believed to be in Salt Lake. a church letter sought their location while he was sent to Caldwell poor farm for care.

Death of Mrs. Hoskins in Payette City
Payette residents were shocked when Mary A Crowther Hoskins died at her Payette home after neuralgia of the heart. She led as president of both the Women’s Relief Corps and the Ladies of the G A R and was born in Racine Wisconsin in 68 years. Survived by husband George Hoskins, brother Frank Crowther of Fayette City and daughter Mrs A Kaessner of Pruitans. Funeral services were held in Fayette and interment at Riverside Cemetery with the Relief Corps in charge.
