Railroad officials B C Manson R E Titus and W T Ennis are praised for overtime to move fruit efficiently. Shippers should load cars promptly and avoid storing fruit to prevent car shortages during peak season.

St James Chip club held a Wednesday dinner at Mr L K Ballenger's home with regular members and guests present. The gathering reports an enjoyable evening.
Five Weiser prune growers arrived in Payotte to settle with a distributor over their 192% crop. Their balance was stretched by freight, and after a long day they trudged along the street. Two local boys spotted the strangers and mused they looked like pallbearers, reflecting grim times for the group.
Mrs Clarence Larson hosted a Friday turkey dinner at her Weiser home. Invited Payette guests included Mrs Wayne Keith Mrs Art Lattig Mrs Th Mallenger and Mrs Ralph Farber. Ontario guests included Mr Vincent Byram and Mrs Victor Johnson.
William Bulmer aged 66 dies at his daughter’s home in Eugene Oregon after a long illness. Survived by wife four sons and two daughters. Born in York England, lived in Beverley prior to emigration to America in 1881 and later moved to Payette. Funeral held November 22 with Masonic Lodge at Masonic cemetery.
A Sunday morning collision north of Fruitland between B R Fitch and Mr Jones caused substantial damage to both cars. Witnesses said high weeds blocked the view of approaching traffic, injuring none but causing Burt to suffer a neck injury that popped back into place. Fitch’s car was towed to Payette for repairs.
The local telephone office employer hosted a pheasant feed at Lola Nell Gorton’s home. Attendees included Floss Christensen, Anna Good, Maude J. Stegall, Francis Anna Beckman, Ruth Anderson, Bertha Pederson, Esther Pederson, Walter Chipman, Ron Cornell, Boise, and manager J A Davenport. After dinner, games and singing followed. One share of company stock was subscribed on the employees saving plan.
Mrs Victor Johnson hosted a Kensington gathering in Ontario to honor sister Mrs Vincent Byram who planned to move to Gold Beach Oregon with Mr Byram a lino type operator. Payette guests attended a dinner hosted by Mrs Ralph Farber with several "Payette" residents present.
On December 2 first Sunday in Advent Saint James Church schedules church school at 10:00 a.m. and choral Eucharist with Communion at 11:00 a.m. Sermon to be given by the rector.

Mrs Earl Farber hosted a three table bridge party Monday evening at her home on Seeang Avenue South. Mrs Hedman Precht won first honors after a luncheon at 4. The ladies present enjoyed a very pleasant evening.
Col L V Patch returned from Pocatello where he attended a meeting of the American railway Association. He chairs the mis cellaneous and less than car lot shipments committee and says the group works well with railroads to move products and distribute cars, aiming to revolutionize the industry. The Central Western division covers Nebraska Wyoming Utah Colorado and Idaho. Miss Alice Mulholland of New Plymouth hosted a dinner Tuesday evening. Attendees included Mr and Mrs Ross Mason of New Plymouth Margaret Elsworth Louis Rosasco and Barnest Fadler of Payette.
Earl Dibble heads to Los Angeles with a carload of live poultry shipped by C. H. Bowman & Son. This is the second poultry shipment from Payette, about 5000 chickens in the car. Dibble, experienced in poultry, will handle feed and water during the transit in a specially built car with a small apartment for the caretaker.
Amaritic stage production PRIDAY December 7 at 8:15 presents The Gypsy Rover in three acts. Rob the Gypsy Rover, later Sir Gilbert Howe, discovers love with Lady Constance Martendale as Craven schemes, jail, escape, and Rob’s rise to nobility, wealth, and marriage to Constance. subplots include Meg Zara and Sinfo romances. Cast features Fern Brubaker Beatie Shadoin and Nancy Harris with London publisher McCorkle and Keither Anderson among many.
Card of thanks thanks friends for kind acts and sympathy during the illness and death of their father and husband who passed away in Eugene Oregon on November 20. Mrs William Bulmer and Family express gratitude for support.
The Women’s Auxiliary to the American Legion will meet at Mrs A I McClanahan’s home on Monday evening December 3. All members are requested to attend and officers will be elected.

Methodist bazaar and supper planned for Dec 7 at the church.

Jack Holt in Nobody's Money and Larry Lemon in The Gows Shop show with matinees, plus December engagements including The Fourth Musketeer and The Merry Go Round. The Payette schools collected a generous Thanksgiving offering for the Boise Children's Home. High School contributed $29.33, Central $39.25, and Weaside School $35.43, totaling $55.01 for the home and its management.
Engine crew James Hutchinson and U S Donal fireman on the P V are laid off this week not by request but because they have exceeded the monthly mileage limit of 3500 miles as allowed by the company.
