Miss Maude Betelle White and George Relier Coates married last Sunday at the Presbyterian Church with Rev. M D Reed presiding. The couple will reside on Coates’ Little Willow ranch as a large circle of friends bestows warm wishes for their future. Later, Mrs Polly honored with luncheon. gifts included a Pyrex baking dish.
Payette hosts visiting Grand Matron Mrs McRoberts of Twin Falls and Oregon officials with a formal meeting and banquet. Local buyers I V Stewart W S Dobbs Johnson depart for Sioux City Iowa after two months of work. Eastern Star members hold a miscellaneous shower for Miss Matte White at the Grouch home with gifts and good cheer.

Mr and Mrs A J Boehmer arrived in Payette to visit friends when he suffered a severe head injury after falling along a dark cedar path. He was taken to Ontario hospital where he is recovering. The Boehmers live in Dakota and were en route from Spokane to see their daughter Beatrice.
Nephi Purcell suffered a severe injury while trapping in the hills when his horse stumbled near the town. He was thrown onto the saddle horn and unable to ride, but clung to the saddle and reached the public highway where an auto driver transported him home and he remained bedridden for several days.
The Portia Club held a farewell reception at Mrs. R. A. Crump’s home for Mrs. Muller, who leaves Sunday. Attendees admired purple and white decor by Mesdames Johnson Catron and Orr, with chrysanthemums. Music by Mrs. McDonald and Mrs. Eastman accompanied by a poem from Mrs. Hughes. A linen handkerchief memento was given by Mrs. Maule, noting Mrs. Muller's loyalty and community work.
Harold Bell Wright discusses The Shepherd of the Hills written after his return to the Ozarks. The film, a 10 reel feature with music, plays at the Emma Theatre starting Wednesday November 26 with two nightly shows, 7 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Also includes a statement from the John Webster Rhoads American Legion post denying opposition to any M. O. C. GA drive and urging to omit the Legion name in such notices.
