Campaign on Next Week Opens Y M C A Revival Drive

A Payette community meeting outlines a three year drive to raise seven thousand dollars yearly to reopen and sustain the local Y M C A. The plan includes hiring a capable secretary, expanding programs in physical, educational and social activities, and restoring a robust youth and adult community life.

Prisoner Returns with Suspect in Car Theft Case

John T. Jefferin returned from San Diego with one suspect, Cecil Lippert of Baker Oregon, in the Blanck car theft case. Lippert waived examination, received a two to fourteen year sentence, and was moved to the state penitentiary after a dramatic escape during transit. Professsor Nelson was involved in a minor accident at the Parks corner, part of a pattern of crashes there. W.R.C. notes and Yeoman Hall meeting details follow.

Farm Bureau Notes and Upcoming Shows in Idaho

Farm Bureau notes announce corn and poultry show dates January 2 and 2, with calls for interested participants to register. Payette Valley Shorthorn Breeders Association organized with eight members. first sale set for December 20. Gopher control urged with bait using strychnine and saccharine on November 17, 24, and December 1. Labor Office reports 7000 applications since July, with 300 daily during peak.
