A Payette community meeting outlines a three year drive to raise seven thousand dollars yearly to reopen and sustain the local Y M C A. The plan includes hiring a capable secretary, expanding programs in physical, educational and social activities, and restoring a robust youth and adult community life.
John T. Jefferin returned from San Diego with one suspect, Cecil Lippert of Baker Oregon, in the Blanck car theft case. Lippert waived examination, received a two to fourteen year sentence, and was moved to the state penitentiary after a dramatic escape during transit. Professsor Nelson was involved in a minor accident at the Parks corner, part of a pattern of crashes there. W.R.C. notes and Yeoman Hall meeting details follow.
Farm Bureau notes announce corn and poultry show dates January 2 and 2, with calls for interested participants to register. Payette Valley Shorthorn Breeders Association organized with eight members. first sale set for December 20. Gopher control urged with bait using strychnine and saccharine on November 17, 24, and December 1. Labor Office reports 7000 applications since July, with 300 daily during peak. State Seed Show opens January 12 in Pocatello offering large cash prizes for barley, Dicklow Wheat, Alfa seed, and corn ears. Dicklow Wheat data to be published next week.
The Bible school opens at 10 a m with ongoing活动 and a sermon at 11 a m titled Salvation in the Name of Christ Alone. Junior service at 3 p m to guide children and an evening sermon at 7 p m titled As Man Thinketh So Is He.
Jack Stewart Brassfield and Edith Johnson of Payette married last Friday at the court house with Judge Luther officiating. The groom works for the telephone company and is popular among local youths. The bride, daughter of Mr and Mrs William Johnson, is well regarded by many friends.

Rupert Hughes Un Pardonable Sin plus Matinee, Can You Beat It? with Florence Reed in A Woman Under Oath, Jim's Girl, Law of the North, Soule of Broadway, and a feature with Skids and Sealawage and prank acts. Also noted is Pathe News and Empress Stock Co. performances through midweek. An infant death follows, Phillis Brown, four years old, funeral at Baptist church. The report notes her parents Mr and Mrs Jonas Brown of Payette Oregon Slope, with prayers from the community and large floral tributes. The child was born October 26 1915 and died November 10 1919.
