Payette Council Closes Alley and Pushes Street Improvements

The Payette city council held a busy session approving street and sidewalk work, ordering the Moss warehouse alley closed, lowering the Vayette Avenue Lateral ditch to match street grade, and notifying residents to proceed with cement walks within thirty days. Y M C A Notes From Local Meeting and Upcoming Events

The Y M C A notes an upcoming Sunday sermon by Rev Gen H Turner and invites broader attendance. Reports from the Boise Laymen’s Convention were given by Tom Driscoll and Banks Kinnison. Sunday school basketball results include Baptists 20 Methodist 26 and a Presbyterian Christian tie to be decided Friday. Next double header on March 6 features Methodist Presbyterian and Baptist Christian games. Admission 10 cents. Willamette Glee Club performs April 4 in the gym under Methodist Sunday School. admission 50 and 25 cents. A tenure club is forming at the Y M C A with $2.00 per member and a 25-member minimum to begin work.

Narrow Escape From Drowning In Snake River

Stephen Clanton, a well known citizen of Payette, narrowly escaped drowning when his boat overturned near the north ferry, leaving him clinging to a cable in icy water for forty five minutes. Rescued by local men after a half hour of peril, he is cold but unhurt aside from shock. Neighbors and local organizations are thanked for support and sympathy.

New Primary Law Sets Ways to Nominate Candidates
