New York February 19 191% Dear Mother I am back from France after a brutal storm filled voyage with high seas and gale winds. The return trip featured four army officers aboard and many squalls with hail and sleet. I ate well despite the seas and toured Paris visiting the Louvre Pantheon and Arch of Triumph while French officers marveled at American troops. I praised General Pershing and hoped for a firm German peace front.

Last Saturday evening near Payette the eldest Peutz daughter Hinma married B H Kent in a simple ceremony at six o clock conducted by Rev. Rueggeberg. A fruit shower followed at the new home site as neighbors sent gifts including a piano and a substantial check from the bride’s father Henry Peutz. Clarence Coates and Irene Avey wed at the courthouse with Judge M O Luther officiating, the couple planning to ranch on Little Willow Creek. Stephen Clanton and Elizabeth C Moore joined in marriage at the bride’s home on North 6th Street, a four course dinner following. The brides and grooms, well known in Payette, are wished long happiness.
