Meadows Hosts Western Idaho Press Association Meeting

Western Idaho Press Association members gathered at Meadows Idaho for a three day quarterly meeting from June 15 to 20. Hosts showcased local booster efforts and a scenic tour from Welser to Council and Evergreen with meals, train travel, and banquets. Notables and editors from Gov. Parker to publishers such as Mark Bates and S.B. Peacock attended the royal style event.

Wedding Bells Unites Mrs Lela Driscoll and Glen Painter

A home wedding at the Driscoll residence unites Miss Lela E Driscoll and Glen C Painter of Middleton Idaho. Rev George Turner officiated with Dorothy Gorrie as ring bearer. After a luncheon the couple left for Middleton to start their life together. The bride, a Payette High School graduate and former Nampa teacher, is praised for character. The groom, proprietor of the Middleton Herald and bank cashier, is noted for his solid reputation and ties to Payette.

Miss May Foss Injured In Spirited Horse Incident

Miss May Foss was thrown from a spirited horse near the Commercial hotel Tuesday, suffering a severe head wound when the animal stumbled and pitched her onto the cement sidewalk. She tied her horse and went to a physician for treatment, remaining calm as the doctor sutured the gash.

Greatest Northwest Christian Church Convention Held in Payette

The eleventh annual Christian Churches in South Idaho convention met in Payette with over two hundred delegates from outside Payette and more than three hundred local attendees. National workers from the Christian Church spoke, a Brotherhood banquet was held, and four days of planned programs included extensive entertainment for all guests.

Poisoning incident on vacation beach sues aid for girl

On Monday June 20 a Boise girl visiting her relatives on the beach drank liquid from poison fly paper by accident. She suffered violent cramps but Dr. J. C. Woodward of Payette was called and quickly relieved the child who is recovering.

Boy loses finger in hay derrick accident

Phil lipp Shamberger twelve year old son of Mrs W B Shamberger had his right index finger severed when caught in a hay derrick. He and his mother traveled to Payette where a physician attempted to reattach the fingertip. The outcome remains uncertain but there is a chance of healing.

Payette Valley Extension Near Falks Store Rail Link

The Payette Valley Railroad extension from New Plymouth to Emmett has three miles of rail laid with two miles left to reach Falks Store. Officials target July Fourth for completion and train service, with grading advancing toward Emmett and daily deliveries of ties rails and other material.

Man Injured When horse Throws Rider Near Washoe Bottom

On Monday June 26 Robert McGlothlin of the Shamberger place in Washoe bottom mounted a horse to ride to town. The horse pitched violently, threw him, he struck his head, and lost consciousness for hours. He recovered by Tuesday aside from bruises as a physician treated him. The temperamental mare had a gentler reputation, leaving neighbors puzzled by the sudden danger. For sale wheat and barley and a local ad for services follow.
