Chautauqua Vows Best Eclipse Program This Year

The 1918 Chautauqua announces Geo. Rezac as Secretary and Manager with Igelis Yucers. the week starts June 24. President Wilson backs the event and the program promises the best yet with music from the Exposition Band and a front line of distinguished speakers. Local officers named include J. B. Turner as president and Geo. Rezer as secretary and manager. Tickets available at Al Tanks and Drug Stores.

Encampment Activities at Payette Idaho G A R Auxiliaries

Encampment events at Payette Idaho include a Tuesday June 11 program with reception at Woodward Hall and W R C Hall. Speakers include Mayor Woolware and Dept Commander Finnery with musical numbers and readings. The Muh School Cadets will drill on Wednesday evening as part of the program.

Memorial Day Observed At Payette With Ceremonies

A large Payette crowd observed Memorial Day with a morning procession from the central school to the cemetery where veterans were honored by the W R C and GG A R. High School cadets fired a salute to unknown soldiers and the day included music by the Gettysburg Address was read by Miss Marie Gauer. The Payette band led an afternoon program and local speakers and a male quartet were featured. Red Cross sewing moves to Mrs Wrights home and chain fundraising nears $114 of $123.

Farm Bureau Notes on War Torn Fields and Safety

Quffers Suffer Severe Paralytic Stroke near Hanigan residence

Fragments report J F Rodgers found at 11 30 pm near Sherif Hanigan’s home unconscious beside his car. Passersby alerted Night Marshal Fenske. Rodgers transported to Dr McDonald’s. Doctors later said he suffered a paralysis stroke with speech loss, in critical condition. In Idaho a German alien women registration notice is issued by Chief Registrar Boise. Nurses Needed for Army and Navy Before January First

Dangerous fluid found near Al Mitchell home

On a Tuesday a yard incident at 7th Street revealed a reddish brown liquid with cinnamon odor in a small container.
