Payette Fourth of July Celebrates with Ball Game and Parade
Payette enjoyed ideal weather as crowds packed the town for a July Fourth celebration. Payette defeated Caldwell 9 to 1 in ball, with a lively bronco busting contest and a gripping wrestling match lasting over an hour. The parade featured dignitaries, floats, and decorated autos from local firms, with prizes awarded for best representations. A big barbecue followed, and Rev. Turner’s oration on American independence drew strong praise, though balloon entertainment failed to materialize.
