A wartime letter dated January 18 1919 from Charleston South Dakota records Pvt M M School Navy Yard reflections on the Argonne offensive Shaky trenches damp fog and rough marching describe fatigue and meals of corned beef and beans The writer vows to return home to mother and loved ones after the war ends and the 206th 77th Division advances against German lines.
Roy Prindle of the famed first Gass regiment has joined the United States forces after a year of hard fighting. The unit suffered heavy losses including 80 Crox Guerre wearers and 20 service medal recipients. The Gass regiment earned a hard front reputation, leading offensives and facing great danger. Roy is expected back to Payette soon with thrilling tales. Also notes a two day Farmers Cooperative Screamery program at Emma Theatre and A A Branthover’s nose operation.

Davis and other exhibits to interest dairy farmers. The club’s officers and 150 members already in place aim for 500 members as development continues. local notices include staff changes, a marriage, and a dog euthanasia due to rabies.
