Bold Burglar Narrowly Escapes Capture in Payette Chase

A well known Payette man attempted to break into Chester Muzzy's home near the old Radio factory on Saturday night. Marshal Skaggs and Night Watchman Lauer pursued for blocks, firing in vain as the suspect fled east and then north. The hat fell during the chase, giving a clue, but the pair could not arrest him. They returned to the scene to find evidence of prior burglaries. The officer vowed to keep pursuing the culprit, aiming to catch him next time.
