Governor Davis and Adjutant General Wilson will inspect the Payette High School Cadets on Friday April 11 as arranged by the Board of Education. Despite other duties, officials scheduled the visit to witness the drill and inspection, with public announcement to follow.
About 40 members of Payette lodge No 22 O F rode to Bremett on Monday evening joining Emmett lodge for a regular blow-out with Caldwell and Middleton delegations. Old candidates from Payette received the first degree conferred by the Emmett team. Candidates listed include L K Ballenger H B Shafer Barry Clay John Howard Albert Harlan and FH Alden. Emmett lodge extended a banquet to out of town guests and Payette boys helped ensure a complete success.
A buggy driven by Cloud Hurd was struck by a car driven by Mrs Walling near W D Case residence. Mrs Hurd suffered a broken rib and bruises. Mr Hurd had a cut and bruised shoulder. Youthful thrill seekers from Weiser, returning from Ontario, fled the scene but later faced disorderly conduct charges in Payette, paying fines and settling with the Hurds.
Seed potatoes offered include Noetted Gem Early Rose American Wonder and Early Puritan sourced from elevations around 3800 feet and a location one hundred miles north and from Washington. Prices asserted as right to enable seed replacement and yield gains sixfold. campaign promises a clean disease free stock presented by A E Wood.
J B Gosman resigns as manager of the Lower Payette ditch. W Holt is appointed in his place after Gosman served twelve years. He plans to farm his Willow Creek land. Christian Church Bible School surpasses 100 students, with weekly new pupils. Service times and sermon topics listed, minister A J Adams invites all.
A free illustrated Health Lecture will be given tonight at 8 P.M. at the Methodist church by M. Parker, Field Secretary of the Idaho Anti Tuberculosis Association. All are invited to attend to see health pictures and learn about health matters. Also notes on purebred Mampshires and yearlings offered by Mrs T E Roberts. Voters are urged to learn about the proposed high school addition. The public is invited to tour the current facilities at the High School and review the design shown at Rezac's Pharmacy. The School Board will meet April 9 to discuss the issue and answer questions. Attorney General Black clarifies voters must be US citizens, residents for six months in state and thirty days in county, and either resident freeholders or resident householders within the district.
The banquet for returning soldiers hosted by the ladies of the W R C last Saturday exceeded expectations though many servicemen could not attend. The women have organized such banquets for four decades and knew how to do it well. The soldiers appreciated the gesture and pledged to be ready for future opportunities.
Community supporters urge stocking the Little Willow Creek reservoir with trout, arguing the fish would thrive there and can be obtained readily. The push emphasizes practical benefits and local knowledge from proponents.
A third drainage meeting to unite ranchers from Washoe to Falky Store is set for Friday night April 4 at Fruitseed High School. U S Drainage Engineer M R Lewis will preside at 9 o'clock. Also notes on hay cultivation weed control silos and moth control with Farm Bureau guidance. Evening meetings on better roads vaccinating calves and coddling moth control planned. Ranch labor remains at $60 wage plus board and housing and bonuses advised for higher pay.
Reports indicate William Maule heads a company planning a large two story building in Payette on the south side near the post office. The old city hall site may be sold only by a city vote at the next general election amid debate on removing the structure. The project aims to create two store rooms and a modern moving picture show, with citizens offered the chance to own half the stock in a stock company setup, and additional buildings expected to follow in Payette.
Last Sunday at the Sewell sheep shearing camp near town Payette residents enjoyed a sunny afternoon watching two men operate power shearers removing fleece in minutes. The scene featured sheep, a lively crowd, and the sounds of bleating as the process unfolded.

A lecture on Christian Science will be given Friday evening April at 8 o'clock in the Christian church auditorium. All are cordially invited.

A life of usefulness ends at ninety eight. Donald Maule of Raglan Township born in Scotland June 21 184 died March 19 aged 98 years 8 months 25 days after a long decline. He left Scotland at sixteen and served on a vessel for years before emigrating to America with his wife Christina Crawford in 184? They settled in Harrison County and lived on the old homestead from 1853. They had 11 children including Jas M Margaret Emma and Albert. Mary LeMay later joined the family in 1911. He leaves many descendants: 22 grandchildren 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Copied from the Sundamin Enterprise.
