Illinois Central Earns Seventh Public Safety Award
Illinois Central Railroad safety programs for 1963 earned the Public Safety Activities Award from the National Safety Council. The citation credited trespass discouragement in 355 schools, employee seat belt program, mass media safety materials, and highway rail crossing safety efforts. Judges included Gerald O Connell Rose Wilcox and W H Colvin.

Mrs. Cliffie Peters Dies in Indianapolis Resident
Mrs. Cliffie Bright Peters of Indianapolis Indiana died August 31 after living in Patoka until marriage. Daughter of William T and Nan Thomason she was predeceased by husband Bennie Peters and brother Jessie. Memorial services were held in Greenville Wednesday. Survived by three daughters Hildred Shafer Annalee Tobory Julia Polley all of Indianapolis and a son Edgar of DeMar California.
