Obituary of Mrs Ann Olmstead

Nancy Ann Olmstead was born near Vernon Illinois on October 11 1884 and died November 11 1985 in Cleveland Ohio aged 52 years 1 month She left her grandparents Wm Cook and wife for much of her childhood then cared for them in later years She married Everett DeLong November 28 1925 Surviving are her husband a brother Wardie Olmstead of Shobonier two half brothers Elvan and George Olmstead a half sister Mrs Alta Bryant Vernon and other relatives A Baptist and devoted woman she spent years caring for others and Mary Etta Olmstead a niece called her a second mother Funeral was held at Elder Oral Brown and she was laid to rest Bear Creek cemetery.

J. R. King of Weldon Dies Sudden of Heart Attack

J R King of Weldon died at home from a heart attack on Friday. He had moved from Patoka years ago and was in the Welden mercantile business. Funeral services were held Sunday in Welden with relatives and local attendees listed.

Patoka Road Project In Progress

After a week's delay due to labor issues, four East St. Louis visitors helped reinstate the west Patoka road project. Work started Wednesday with Gerald Livesay as foreman and James Quayle as time keeper, with thirty men clearing weeds and preparing ditches along the route from the Verne Nattier farm to the M D Walker farm.
