Farmers may pledge Land Bank Bonds to the Federal Intermediate Credit Bank in Louisville with discounts up to ten times pledged capital and up to 75 percent of commodity value. Loans run six months to three years at 5 percent interest, with 2 percent service charges. Approved commodities include tobacco, wool, corn, wheat, and dairy products, among others, with guidance available from the Federal Farm Loan Board in Washington.

Martha Jane Garner born November 15, 1860 in Georgia and moved to Illinois with her parents. She married Irvin Marshall Epperson on August 7, 1875 at Sho bonier Illinois. he died May 3, 1902. They had twelve children, five preceded her. She died May 6, 1930 at St Joseph Hospital Bloomineton Missouri after a stroke. funeral held at Vernon Missouri Church with burial in Vernon Cemetery.
The M. F. Church Sunday School presented a Mother’s Day program during the Sunday School hour. Notable numbers included a saxophone solo by Paul Belcher and two songs by the quartet Roy Ballance D. M. Smith Mrs. Bessie Murfin and Mrs. Donna Jennings with Thona Belcher at the piano. Mae ote Gray read, and white flowers were distributed to the audience.

Mrs Lena Harbolt wife of a traveling salesman and formerly of Canada died by hanging at her parents Odin residence early Wednesday. The coroner held an inquest with a six man jury finding death due to hanging while mentally unbalanced. She had come to Odin for medical treatment in March and planned to return to Canada next Saturday. The body was taken to Boggs undertaking parlors in Centralia for burial.
The Mother's Day program by the Christian Church on Sunday evening drew a large audience. Attendees praised the performers for a fitting program that followed last week's printed schedule.

Illinois is funding wolf control with a bounty program. The state appropriated twenty thousand dollars for wolf bounties and the first four twenty dollar rewards have been issued by Director Stuart E. Pierson of the Department of Agriculture to four men in Pike County.
An ideal village in miniature will be shown at Springfield during the Well Equipped Home exposition running May 19 to 24. The exhibit demonstrates town planning with every house facing a park and is held under the Illinois Federation of Women's Clubs.
