Patoka high school announces the Second Annual Basket Ball Banquet will be held Saturday night March 15 in the Patoka gym. All local folks are welcome by reservation only due March 13. Old Capital at Vandalia Suffers Blaze
Fire damaged the Old Capital Building at Vandalia with damage estimated between 12 000 and 15 000. The blaze confined to the dome and cupola while interior water and wreckage affected the interior. Punk Wheeler Harry Lohr was treated for smoke and fire injuries at Greer Hospital. Built in 1886 the building stood as Fayette County Court House and may become a historical monument to Lincoln.
