New Bus Lines Given Approval

Springfield June 18 The Illinois Commerce Commission approved several bus routes expanding state highway service. Favorable actions include Chicago and Joliet lines by Chicago & Joliet Transportation, Alton Transportation routes via Springfield, Illinois Traction connections between Carlinville Venice and Staunton Hillsboro, Tri-State service Springfield Beardstown, Gem City routes Ripley Rushville, and Alton Transportation linked to Chicago, & Alton Railroad ownership. The commission also authorized Metropolitan Motor Coach to buy North Shore & Milwaukee properties for 400000, and approved other utility actions including a light signal upgrade in Pana and a Telco line use west of Nokomis. Some petitions were denied or dismissed.

Illinois Central Excursion Train to New Orleans
