Wiser Oil Company of Lexington Kentucky establishes offices in the C D Martin building with D L Johnson in charge. Former pastor reports from the flood area

Rev J R Kelly and family of Sturgis Kentucky were unharmed after the flood disaster. The Kellys told Mrs P J Mojonnier that Sturgis would need five or six feet more water to damage their property. Their son Henry is engaged in rescue work in the region. Kelly previously preached at Patoka Baptist Church.

Undertakers Buy New Funeral Home in Sandoval

Cox and Martin undertakers, operating from Patoka, Vernon and Sandoval, purchase the former H. R. Hall residence in Sandoval to establish a new funeral home. John Chapman of Sandoval will manage the Sandoval office. the business moves from the Willis building.

Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary Celebrated Here

Mr and Mrs George Jett of Odin celebrated their golden wedding Sunday in the Odin high school gymnasium. About two hundred relatives and friends attended while Rev J M Smith of Patoka spoke on the occasion. Supt Gumm presented two rocking chairs as gifts and a bountiful noon dinner followed.

Mr and Mrs Leo C Walker learn their son Junior, injured in a June motorcycle crash, re broken leg after slipping while walking at Jefferson Barracks Hospital Missouri. He will remain hospitalized for several more months.

Ska Local of Sanitary Milk held its annual meeting at the gymnasium on January 11 with about 50 visitors present. E. Bone reviewed the year’s work and Jack from St. Louis spoke on the association’s milk ordinance while Mr iid explained by Mr. Hubberd. W J McCoy discussed milk testing and Patoka’s valuable premiums. Directors elected for the year included Roy Malan, Ora Brumfield, and Fred Amittee with Wash Bowen, Claud Foster, Frank Foster, and Robert as committee members.

A wire recovered Tuesday morning from Patoka's oil producer area is reported in the local notes. The cartridge was lost after the shot was cleaned and the rig will move to a new location for further operations.
