Illinois proposes north south zones for duck hunting
The state seeks to divide into northern and southern zones for duck seasons, with the north keeping September 16 to December 31 and the south starting October 15 to January 31, following a line along the Wabash railroad from Hannibal to the Indiana line. The plan argues southern hunters face unfair tighter rules and notes Illinois length complicates migratory patterns. The Illinois agriculture department also touts egg uses from burns to cleaning leather and hair care.
