Erasmus Arnold Dies at 74 in Foster Township

Erasmus Green Arnold eldest son of James and Caroline Arnold was born Feb 19 1856 in Foster township and died Nov 30 1930 at age 74 years 9 months 11 days. He married Sarah Swift in 1877 and Foster in 1889, leaving a wife three children six brothers eight grandchildren and many relatives. Funeral services were held at Arnold Chapel with interment at Sandy Branch cemetery.

Patoka to Host Sandoval In Key Northern Egyptian Clash

Tonight Patoka high school faces Sandoval at the local gym. Sandoval is strong this year with only one conference loss. Patoka has zero losses. Sandoval has played one more game. Both teams are top contenders and the crowd is urged to attend. Next week Patoka hosts Flora on the local floor as an independent team of former stars.

A Thanksgiving dinner at the Patoka High School gym raised $149.00 and a Patoka Inde basketball game against the Pana Panthers added $10.80, all directed to the cemetery fund. The net total reached $155.79.

Walter Dukes Returns From Wyoming Visit

Walter Dukes, engineer, spent a week with his mother Mrs. Jane Dukes and family before returning to Wyoming. He brought home an elk quarter weighing 82 pounds, shot about a quarter mile away, and distributed portions to friends. It was his first visit to his old home in several years.
