The University of Illinois College of Agriculture trains 71 fat steers 11 fat sheep 19 breeding sheep and 34 fat swine for the Chicago International Livestock Exposition opening December 2. 923 entries from 99 breeders join 126 4-H junior feeders in a series of contests including intercollegiate judging and the National 4-H Club Congress with Illinois represented by a student team and staff judges.

Illinois Central Railroad Cuts Fares Across System
Illinois Central announces new lower travel rates effective December across all lines. Coach and chair car fares drop to 2 cents per mile one way and round trip, sleeping and parlor cars to 3 cents one way and 2 1/2 cents for longer round trips, 2 cents for shorter. Pullman surcharge eliminated, reducing totals by about one third. Rates valid six months, subject to public response.

Sanitary Milk Co Op Sets Enforcers for New Code
The Sanitary Milk Producers, the official co op for the St. Louis territory, created an enforcement committee on November 25 1933 to uphold the milk code. The group includes four dairymen for the producers four for distributors and a ninth member to be chosen later. Committee duties include collecting evidence hearing complaints and pursuing federal prosecution if needed. The code signed by Secretary Henry A Wallace took effect at 3 01 p m November 25 1933 and is expected to add about 4300 daily to farmers in the St. Louis district. All milk dealers in the area must aid enforcement.

The Sanitary Milk Producers announce a new price agreement in St Louis raising base price to 1.941 2 per quart with a 1-cent store differential. The measure includes a Dairy Council check off and Milk Industry Board, following audits showing wide price spread across 12 cities.
