Methodist Aid Meeting Held August Fifth in Church Rooms
The regular Aid meeting took place on Thursday August 5 in church rooms. President Mrs S M Spurgeon opened the gathering with prayer by Mrs Lora Altom. The State Highway Department finished shoulder work on Highway 51 in Patoka's business district after three weeks of weather delays. Crews graded, cleaned drainage, and applied oil and chat to lifted shoulders from Cox & Martin Funeral Home corner to Nellie Smith corner, with four local men among the workers: Bill Williams, Duncan Williams, Dick Belcher, and Frank L. Porter.
