Lynn Sunderman a Pasadena City College freshman was named Miss Junior Rose Bowl at a Pasadena Junior Chamber luncheon. The tallest and heaviest finalist at 5 feet 8 inches and 125 pounds she will preside over the December game and promote the event which unites top California four year colleges. Sunderman, daughter of Mr and Mrs Ralph Sunderman, plans UCLA then an Eastern law school and hopes to become a lawyer. Her hobbies include ice skating and sewing.

Chinese Art On View At Pasadena Museum Exhibition

A selection from the A Burlingame Johnson Collection of Chinese porcelains opens at the Pasadena Art Museum from October 17 to November 12. The 300 year span includes pieces donated by Mrs. Oliver Fisher Jolson. Ground breaking for the museum’s new multi million dollar home at Cermelita Park is set for October 17 with Fred Runyon hosting. The Allan Kaprow show runs to October 22, Don Worth photography to October 16, and Lyonel Feininger works remain in the 20th Century Gallery.

Pasadena Charter Promoted For City Vote

WANDA TUCKER reports copies of Pasadena's proposed city charter will be available in booklet form early this week. City Clerk Harriett Jenkins says residents may pick up the larger type charter from the clerk's office and read the full text before the November 16 municipal election.

United Crusade Volunteers Begin Fund Drive in Sierra Madre

United Crusade volunteers start Saturday door to door asking Sierra Madre residents for contributions. The combined drive funds 244 agencies and 12 Red Cross chapters, with chairs Mr. Guy Rossi and Mrs. Lucy Young guiding the effort. Aimed at supporting Red Cross programs and youth, elderly care, and family services, the drive also consolidates prior drives into a single annual appeal. Volunteers will meet Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Sierra Madre School Cafetorium to receive canvasing kits and boost participation.

Area Water Producers To Pick Ride

An open invitation to all San Gabriel basin water producers to attend a meeting at El Monte City Hall on October 3 to choose counsel for basin adjudication. Jorgenson, president, urges company attorneys and reps from over 90 producers to agree on a single lawyer to initiate a suit aimed at establishing prescriptive rights across the basin.
