Sierra Madre Names New Police Head

Mother Denies Low Settlement in Bennett Injury Suit

The Star-News misstated a 1868 bicycle truck collision in San Gabriel involving Daniel Thomas Bennett, 16, who sued in Pasadena. His parents William and Mrs Bennett rejected a reported settlement. Mrs Bennett said it was 25 000 and too low after attorney fees for medical costs. The driver Bruce Nelson McCormick was found not negligent. Bennett remains crippled.
