El Wilson of the state parks and recreation reports a driver who habitually uses a seat belt left his belt in a loaner car at the garage for repairs and later exited with his pants falling. The incident highlights safety habits and belt use in loaner vehicles.
Three new bowed members joined the Pasadena Board of City Directors at the annual reorganiza tion meeting in City Hall. Walter L. Benedict was named to a second term as mayor and Joseph Messler was elected vice mayor. Benedict, a Pasadena native and owner of Benedict and Benedict plumbing, has served since 1963 and was re elected in 1967 and 1971. Messier represents District Seven and has practiced internal medicine in Pasadena. he and his wife Jane live on South Hill Avenue.
Senior citizens are invited to a film showing organized by Mr and Mrs Sianuel Morning at the Lost Methodist Church on Wednesday with a luncheon. Altadena Festival lists contest winners across events from a four mile parade to beard and pie eating contests. Rosa Johnson presided as grand marshal as schools and junior high teams earned top prizes in bands drill teams and marching units amid community pageantry and bearded accolades.

Deputies say a theft at Glen Wilson High School in Hacienda Heights yielded a jar containing pure potassium cyanide. The missing item was taken between Monday and Wednesday last week, with discovery reported Monday. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Industry sheriff's station.
