The case involved former Los Angeles police officers Eugene R. Grace and Beverly Grace plus a Glendale court reporter, with Grace later marrying the reporter in Pasadena. Grace had fled to Mexico for divorce proceedings while still married to Beverly, who later filed for divorce in California amid charges of cruelty.
