Northern Manitoba Indians and Metis press sweeping hiring demands on Churchill Forest Industries and related firms in The Pas. They demand 75 percent of unskilled, 50 percent of skilled, and 25 percent of office staff be Indian or Metis, with a deadline of October 5, 1970 and a spokesman named Nathan McGillibray.

Carrierre pleaded guilty to Theft over fifty dollars for stealing a car from Walter Hutton at The Pas on July 12. He was apprehended in Virden in early September and had six months previously served for Assault Causing Bodily Harm.
