Obituary for Daniel Austin of The Pas Canada
Daniel Austin died at his home on September 27 after a long illness. Born in 1889 in Fairfield Derbyshire England he emigrated to Canada in 1905. He lived in Port Arthur then The Pas since 1919 and worked with the federal government for 20 years. Survived by son Leonard and twenty grandchildren. Predeceased by daughter Elsie Carr in 1965. Funeral service held Friday September 30 at Christ Church The Pas.

Sam Young Dies At Flin Flon
Sam Young, longtime Flin Flon resident and former The Pas native, died at Flin Flon General Hospital on September 18 at age 88. He helped propel a junior hockey team to Memorial Cup play in 1935 and ran an auctioneering business in Flin Flon. Survived by wife Phoebe, three daughters, 22 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
