Council Chooses Town Engineer Hire Over Manager

Court News Constant Found Guilty Of Possession Of Stolen Property
William Ralph Constant of The Pas was found guilty in Magistrate Court last Wednesday on a charge of possession of stolen property arising from an incident on July 23 1970. The Crown called three witnesses including Billy Fenner who testified about a watch found in a paper bag and returned to Constant amid a disputed chain of events.

Final Concert for Overture Assoc March 24
The Pas Overture Concert Association presents its final concert of the season on Wednesday March 24 at 8 PM in the Margaret Barbour Collegiate Auditorium featuring the Rondaliers male trio. Membership for 1971 72 is on sale during intermission. A general annual meeting follows March 30 at 7 30 PM in Mary Duncan home ec room. Public suggestions for concert selection are welcome.

Car Fire Near LaVerendrye Motel in The Pas
The Pas Volunteer Fire Department extinguished a 1962 Chrysler car fire near the LaVerendrye Motel last Thursday evening. Gilbert Leming of Valley View Trailer Court was driving into town at about 9:30 PM when his car filled with smoke. He was alone. Firefighters arrived as the blaze was nearly out, using an extinguisher borrowed from the motel. The back seat was destroyed.

Major David Gilbert Jones of The Pas Manitoba begins first year at USAIDR Institute pursuing Advanced Theory and Science of Dental Practice.
