Man Charged In Death On Carrot River Road
Orson Bestland of The Pas, 19, faces a dangerous driving charge from a March 29 crash on Carrot River Road. His half-ton truck collided with a car driven by Fred Harvey of The Pas. Ivy Harvey was killed, Brenda Harvey 5 months old was seriously injured, and Fred Harvey was injured. Police said no plea has been entered and the case is not yet disposed of.

Social Studies Field Trip to Winnipeg and Beyond
About 100 grade 5 students from Kelsey Elementary traveled from The Pas for a multi day field trip to the Winnipeg area and surrounding sites. They visited Austin Museum, a Winnipeg planetarium, Lower Fort Garry, Pinawa atomic plant, Assiniboine Zoo, Museum of Man and Nature, the airport, CBC, Steinbach printing shop, Mennonite Village, Red River Exhibition, and Carberry sand hills. Funds were raised largely by the students. George Takashima organized most tickets.

Fun day for Opasquia students winds up school year
Elementary children at Opasquia School enjoyed a fun day at the exhibition grounds on Friday with games and races marking the wind-up of the school year. Summer holidays begin with students returning Wednesday September 5. Other Kelsey School Division schools also held similar events for younger students.
