Teaching Costs Money in The Pas School Funding Debate

The Kelsey School Board backs its fall move to bar about 60 Big Eddy settlement and Indian Band land children from local public schools, arguing that taxpayers should not fund their education. The board, Manitoba education talks, and Indian Affairs plans are in flux as integration grows and funding disputes surface.

Delay in Education Department over Big Eddy school funding

The School Board prepared the money by law to cover construction costs and the department must approve such programs. There is no excuse for the delay on the part of the Department of Education regarding Big Eddy. The issue of Young's Point and pupils from off Indian Band Land has been warned that action will be taken if revenue to cover these students is not provided.
