Gerry McKinney haunts Portage La Prairie to The Pas link
A long reminiscence traces Gerry McKinney from The Pas crusades of 1971 72 through a 24 Hours CBC interview in Portage La Prairie and local party politics. The writer notes his defence of Irish identity involvement with the Korean War veterans and his shifting campaigns including opposition to local leaders and a push for second TV channels for northern Manitoba. The column ties in with cultural events and civic offices as well as a revived Children’s Torchlight Parade plan and Parade logistics.
