Community members attend visits and festival events across Reston and area. Notable names include Hall, Harkness, Beech, McPhee, Dupuis, Framingham, Peters, and Lamb with births announced in Carman and nearby towns. Also reports on travel, hospital visits, photo trips, and a five-part review schedule for the Pas Figure Skating Club.
The Trappers Festival offered a busy program with street dancing, a successful jamboree, and guest callers Joe Griffith from Flin Flon and Jim Woods from Melfort. Visitors from many Manitoba and Saskatchewan towns joined, while Friendship Banner honors went to Melita, Manitoba.
The Trappers Festival closed after three days of indoor and outdoor activity drawing steady crowds. The Festival Committee will plan for 1963 as the town praises local talent and notes many audiences were turned away by sold out shows.
A Christ Church Parish Social featured the film Secret of The Gift and a color film World in a Marsh from the local Film Council library. Parishioners gathered for singing games and fellowship with Mr Chas Hill officiating and Rev. Roberts leading singing. Vestrymen C Carley and G Bagshaw assisted in planning.
