Four youths jailed for breaking and entering and violence
Three youths were sentenced to four months in jail by Magistrate Neil MacPhee for breaking and entering and robbery with violence. A 15 year old juvenile was committed to the Portage Home until he reaches the age of majority. All four faced charges of breaking and entering.

Anniversary Plans Move Ahead for 50th Celebration

New Steel Boat To Run On Saskatchewan River
The Pas will see a new all steel freighter and passenger boat on the Saskatchewan River between The Pas and Moose Lake with a later link to Grand Rapids. Keystone Fisheries plans a 45 ton hull built at Riverton and assembled at The Pas. The vessel will carry six passengers, a galley, and a 30 000 pound refrigerated fish hold. It features twin tunnelled propellers for shallow waters and 30 000 pounds of fresh fish capacity.
