Murray McKenzie hosts Northern Lights on CHTM at 7 30 p m from 610 on the radio dial. He greets in English and Cree and reports on bombardier tails fish and fur markets and northern activity drawing growing Bay Line and Lynn Lake listenership.
The school outlines a bonspiel trip to Winnipeg with a rink of Terry Needham Jim Worobee Mervyn Donaldson and Harley McKellar. A Christmas program December 19 features The Christmas Carol and a Glee Club performance to raise funds for travel costs to Reach for the Top.
A pamphlet titled The Problem of Evil explains why suffering exists and how it fits with God’s mercy and justice. It argues that God permits physical evils to punish sin and test the faithful, while moral evil is a matter of human free choice. Free copies KC-64 mailed upon request with no calls.
The Sunday turnout dropped due to holidays as ladies nearly all stayed away. Bob Martin and Claude Bissonnette led round robin badminton with no repeat winners so far. Claude warns of new wrinkles as ca libre setup begins. Next sessions announce volleyball 7 to 9 and badminton 9 to 11 on December 20. December 27 and January 3 are cancelled with play resuming January 10, 1965.
The Flin Flon Trout Festival dates for 1965 are announced with the festival running July 1 through July 4. The derby begins June 19 and ends Saturday July 3, while all other fishing events start June 26.
In Flin Flon the Trappers Valour Queen contest features two contestants at the Wiggins and Diane Bottre. The association hosts a family day picnic with free admission at Beery Portage Day, marking the Trout Festival opening in Flin Flon.
