The Pas Lions held their seventh annual Anniversary with nearly 300 attendees. They presented a 1100 check to the Town of The Pas for the final water line payment to Devon Park Pool, part of a 2250 pledge for the pool project.
The Pas Huskies defend CRVHL title and host an all star Thompson lineup or Flin Flon Warriors in the 1964 65 season opener. A recent intersquad game and planned workouts hint at a real battle for fans. Larry Pearson’s loss hurts the blue line as coach Goldstrand prepares for strong opponents.
The Pas Air Cadet Squadron held a Parent's Night Parade with cadet promotions to Corporal and Sergeant and the awarding of St John's Ambulance Badges. F L Gordon Turner received Brock Smith Trophy for Manitoba progress as Adam Demick and Wilf Cudmore presented. Present strength 60.
The Pas volunteers honored Jack Walker at the Fireman’s Ball for 35 years of service. Walker, born and raised there, began responding to calls during school and joined the brigade in 1934 and later the Unity Department in 1936. He recalls three major fires, including a 1942 shack fire on Gordon Avenue, a 1952 fatal blaze on Crossley Avenue, and a 1954 oil heater explosion on Bell Second, each costing lives.

Two hunters Corky Parker of The Pas and Joe Nimco of St Paul Minnesota narrowly escaped when a snow toboggan they operated broke through ice on Pickerel Lake east of The Pas. They had crossed a creek three times, Nimco swam to safety while Parker was wet.
Town of The Pas will present its case for further power rate reductions to the Manitoba Hydro Board after talks between Town Council, Chamber of Commerce, and Minister Maitland Steinkopf. A spokesman said a Winnipeg meeting with the Hydro Board is being lined up for early January.
Bill Moffatt named Justice of the Peace for The Pas replacing Mac Profit. He also becomes Deputy Sheriff under Andy Goldstrand and Bailiff for the area replacing Goldstrand. Manitoba reorganizes to combine Deputy Sheriff and Bailiff into one position called Sheriff’s Officer. The Pas will become a distinct northern Manitoba judicial district with main offices at The Pas.
The Town of The Pas resumes studying ambulance service options for the New Year. Hayes Ambulance warned of discontinuation over indigent cases unless a funding agreement is reached. Council will request financial aid details from Swan River Russell and Portage la Prairie and accepted Manitoba Hydro incentives for Christmas lighting December 12 to January 9.
