Two Women Die In Separate Accidents In The Pas
Two women died in separate accidents in The Pas during the last week. Anna Victoria Greenleaf 25 of Cumberland House Saskatchewan was killed Friday when struck by a Mac's Taxi vehicle driven by Henry Martin near Rahl's Island Road. An inquest is expected. Mari Bendoni 24 of Brochet died in Winnipeg Hospital after being found at Third Street and Head Avenue August 12 in an apparent car crash. She was flown to Winnipeg and died there. Investigation ongoing.

Brandon Men Hospitalized After Car Rollnear The Pas
Two Brandon men aged in their early twenties Brian Christie and Jack Baker were hospitalized after their 1968 car left Number 10 highway south of The Pas and rolled about three times in a ditch around 8 p.m. Wednesday. Both sustained injuries with one man having a broken leg. RCMP warned motorists to yield to emergency vehicles or risk charges in future incidents.

Truck Driver Escapes After Tar Truck Rollover
Police report a Woolsey semi driven by George Smith of Winnipeg rolled on a corner north of the Saskatchewan River Bridge after a back trailer tire blew out. Smith, believed ejected part way from the cab, escaped with only minor bruises when the cab was crushed. Accident occurred about 2 a.m. Friday.

Horticultural Group Honors Two Long-Time Members
The Pas and District Horticultural Society honored Mrs. Ae Day and Mrs. J Jaeger with certificates of merit at the annual show led by president Rudolf Schlick. Despite fewer entries the exhibition featured good quality displays including vegetables and a few ripe tomatoes. 204 guests signed the book and the 4H Club participated for added interest with assessments by Phyllis Pierrepont and Jake Nickel.

Indians Plan Three Days Of Opasquia Indian Days Sports
The Opasquia Indian Days Celebrations at The Pas Reserve begin Wednesday evening at Dick Bell Park with a 6 p.m. weiner roast funded by the Band Council. March For Millions totals 3922 dollars in donations
The March for Millions raised 3922.62 dollars with 784.52 to Friendship Centre and 784.52 to Rotary Museum project, 2353.58 to an OXFAM project. In Pas the event totaled 101.35 with 79 for marchers refreshments. About 50 youths have not submitted money, mostly ages 12 to 13, with roughly 200 outstanding.

Inquest Held Into Boys Death
A coroner's inquest into the death of two year old David Arthur Constant found he died from severe head and brain trauma after being run over by an automobile on The Pas Reserve. The jury urged more signs showing children playing in residential areas. Jurors included Gordon Lathlin, John A. Giles, Charles G. Constant, Rod McGillivary, Philip Dorion and Victor Lesaichuk.

Car Wash Plans New Location After Rezoning Rejection
Ross Fielding will open a coin operated car wash with gas pumps in a new site after Town Council rejected a Gordon Avenue location for residential zoning reasons. The project costs about 35000 and should operate by the end of September.
