Manitoba will extend French language instruction in September. Conversational French will be tried in grades 1 to 3 for English-speaking students and Francais for native French speakers will grow to grades 2 and 3. The program completes the 1 through 12 curricular plan. School boards may apply for authorization to start Conversational French in fall.

Centennial Grants Forms Issued For Local Projects

Government assistance is available for approved local centennial projects. Forms are sent on request to municipalities, districts, and Indian Bands. The program offers up to two thirds of project cost, to a maximum of two dollars per capita, with August 1 as the project submission deadline.
