Celebrates 87th Birthday at Open House

The Association for Retarded Children with health department help will host a showing of the film Pheny Lkeutoneuria in the Provincial Building Board Room on Tuesday May 22 at 8 pm. Open house then followed as Mr George Mortan marked his 87th birthday with friends and neighbors.

Photographs Wanted for School Display from 1922 to 1969

Requests for graduation pictures of Miss Barbour's classes and any class snaps for 1922 1969. Contact Mrs H F Bickford at MA3 2827 before May 14. Also notes a tour by Retarded Children's Association representatives Earl Jellison Tim Davidson and a Winnipeg weekend visit by Mrs Nora Prescott.

Shower by Proxy for Kathleen Watt at Co V C Hall

A unique shower by proxy was held for Kathleen Watt on April 28 with 52 guests including men and children. Guests donated money in envelopes placed in a decorated gift box, which was presented to Kathy’s parents and later given to the bride and groom at the wedding reception on April 25 in the LaVerendrye Dining Room.

Legion Ladies Auxiliary visit and meeting changes

The Pas Branch 19 Canadian Legion auxiliary members traveled to Flin Flon on Monday April 27 to visit friends. The group announced their meeting night moved to Monday May 1. Guests at the April meeting included District Representative Helen Gees from Thompson. Patricia Doherty Jo Anne Didur and Lorretta Lindal returned from the University of Manitoba for the summer. George Ingram hosted guests Mr Ingram's brother Alex and nephew and wife Bob Ingram from Calgary for a few days.
