Floods Cont'd: Farmers fight trench blockages near Pas
Harry Vandenbogerd of the Valley Farmers Association reports heavy snow in a trench south of town hindering drainage to the Saskatchewan River. A wheel pulled by a tractor failed to clear a 1/2 mile section, with an estimated $200 for a front-end loader or back-hoe. Water control officials are blamed for delays as about 25 square miles sit waterlogged up to three feet, risking delayed seeding.
