The town and school boards approve budgets at 68 mills despite a higher assessment base. The Town of The Pas sees increased grants and a larger total education budget of 488 428.00 with a 563 263.74 town figure. Consol district raises education funding by 8 700.00 due to reassessment.
The town budget for the current year totals 690 00 with a big rise from 1964. Public works tops the spending at 70 755 00, up 11 000 from last year, including 24 600 00 for street surfacing and 4 500 more for protection of persons and press. Fire department reaches 14 760 00, up 1 000 00, while the dog pound figures in the continuation on page 10.
