First Anglican Mission To The Pas Pioneered By Henry Budd
The Anglican Church began at The Pas through Bre Hudson’s Bay Company and the Church Missionary Society sending Reverend John West. Henry Budd, baptized in 1823, became the first convert north and west of the Great Lakes and later a lay reader who helped establish a log school and meeting house, fostering Christian work among the local Indigenous people.

Joe Nasacapow Dies in Moose Lake at 61
Joe Nasacapow, 61, died after a lengthy illness in Moose Lake this week. A well known figure in The Pas and surrounding area, he was educated at Big Eddy and famed as one of the well educated Indians of these parts. He worked as an interpreter for official functions and spoke on Indian rights, often quoting interpretations of the Indian Treaties with Queen Victoria. He moved to Moose Lake two years ago and rarely visited The Pas.

General Course Introduced At The Pas High School
The Kel so Board approves a province wide general course replacing the commercial program at The Pas. A public meeting will be held May 7 at 7 30 PM in the collegiate auditorium to explain the course to parents and students. Beginning September the course starts in grade 10 with gradual grade 11 and 12 additions.

Thompson Road Passable Yet Not Recommended
