Former Sheriff Froyd Dies After Major Operation
Funeral services were held in Cedar City for Alfred Froyd 73 longtime lawman and former county sheriff He died at the county hospital following a major operation and pneumonia Complications Froyd known for Democratic Party leadership served four terms as sheriff and held other public roles He was born in Malmo Sweden May 25 1866 and moved to America in 1931 He married Anna Leigh in 1899 and survived by four daughters three grandchildren and a sister in California.

Parowan High School defeated Cedar in their first football game under coach Floyd Slater. Quicker Rams, led by Jack Halterman who raced 60 yards for the only TD, outplayed Cedar most of the match.
