District Court in Iron County Opens with Murder Case On Docket

The September term begins under Judge Knox as the district court convenes in Iron County. The State versus Wim jewel for the May desert murder near Modena dominates on the calendar with a jury empaneled. Governor Mabey to Visit Parowan and Cedar Canyon Route

Governor Charles R Mabey was seen in Parowan Cedar today as County Commissioners planned a road inspection from Cedar canyon to Cedar Breaks then Parowan canyon. Prominent local attorneys attended court with District Attorney Higgins and others.

The Rex Theatre offered Humoresque free Thursday afternoon thanks to the theatre management and local supporters including the mayor. It had been shown as a regular feature the night before and drew praise from attendees.

Stake Conference Set This Weekend at The Tabernacle

Beginning at 10 a m Saturday the regular quarterly Stake Conference will convene in the Tabernacle and continue through Saturday and Sunday. Conventions for all Auxiliary organizations will be held with representatives from the general boards expected. Visiting brothers will be announced later.

Fish Stock Rushes to Creeks in Canyon Settlement

Another batch of fish, about S000, was received late in the week by the Local Gun and Red Club. The fish were released into creeks in the canyon, many reaching Bear Flat, and appeared healthy at planting.
