Schools Open Registration With Wide Course Offerings
Morning registration announced for Tuesday at the district schools with a $5.00 student body fee and a $3.50 book rental for grades 1 to 12. Books may be returned in May for a partial refund. Courses include labor, science, civics, English, math, home economics, shop, geometry, algebra, chemistry, agriculture, and more across grades one to twelve. Veteran stage actor dies during Parowan visit
George Oliver Taylor aged 67 long time stock company and Broadway actor was found dead in his Parowan lodging. Death attributed to coronary thrombosis. Born in Parowan April 13, 1882, he pursued theater from Cedar City Branch Normal through numerous western stock tours and a long Broadway run in Andy Christie. Parowan hosted a three day reunion for descendants of Joseph and Lucy Munfor Stevens. The Friday dance opened events, Saturday noon dinner at Five Mile drew about 100 attendees, with an afternoon program of family representatives, games, and skits. A Saturday evening $30 business meeting reelected officers including Arnold Y. Stevens as president, and a genealogical committee. Sunday featured a West Ward Sacrament meeting led by Joseph E. Ward.
