Doings at School and Student Activities Report

Miss Metjhe ney from the Art Textbook Company gave demonstrations on Art education as Superintendent Barlow and other staff visited enroute to Trova for Miss Margaret Williams' mother's funeral. Juniors and seniors dismissed Friday to allow deer-hunt participation. elementary grades remain in session. An I. A. G. assembly was held at the High School, with a Dramatic Art skit performed for teachers institute. Senior Literature notes include prose riddles and poems by Ruby Ward, Reed Edwards, and others.

Farm and Labor Straw Vote Shows City Unity Split

Democrats nominate Decker by acclamation in primary

In a Wednesday primary the Democrats renominated Mayor Ivan Decker by acclamation. L. J. Adams won a council seat for the long term, with Ray Garner Wendall Bayles and John H. Pendleton securing short term spots. Edward G. Matheson was chosen recorder and Jed Orton won treasurer after a close vote.
