Prices for wool show steady advances in September while lamb prices lag July gains. Pulled-wool leads the rise, with 12 pound lamb pelts worth 4 to 5 dollars in pulled-wool terms, and pulled-wool typically priced higher due to lamb origin. A 75 pound lamb yields 25 to 40 pounds of meat and 4 to 5 dollars of wool.
The report notes the Five Mile work nearly finished and main canyon patrol ended for the season. Foremen request keeping four teams unchanged to avoid progress delays while two new workers start Tuesday at Bear Valley divide and a Paragonaha pool crew forms next week.
County commissioners at their regular October meeting named judges for voting districts outside incorporated cities. Two suits filed by State Bank Commissioner Malia for Iron County in district court. One suit against Joshua Walker et al seeks mortgage foreclosure for 1110 plus interest. The other suit against Robert J W Fowler seeks collection of four notes totaling 535 with interest. Morris and Matheson represent the plaintiffs.
In publishing the names of the newly elected officers of the American Legion last week, the name of twenty Orton, who is the new secretary and treasurer, was inadvertently omitted.

The Democratic party primary in Farawan City failed to convene at the Court House on October 13 1923. The aim was to nominate a full city ticket for the November election including a Mayor and multiple council seats along with a recorder and treasurer. Clauda Orton served as precinct secretary with Clifford Empey as precinct chairman.
The Alledin theatre installs a complete new sound system at a high cost and adds improvements to enhance patron enjoyment. The venue reopens Saturday night with the Broadway musical 42nd Street, followed by shows Sunday and Monday nights.
The Literary club met Wednesday at Georgia B. Mitchell home. Fae N. Benson led the Greek Epic and Tragedy lesson. Next week Louise C. Adams hosts with Maude I. Parcells continuing the same subject. Plans are underway for the Ligathly party during the fall season.
The board considered a month's claim against the county and approved several minor items before adjournment. All members, the attorney, clerk, treasurer, and assessor attended the meeting.
The annual deer hunt opens next Friday morning October 29 with preparations by hunters across the region. Registration and check stations will be used at Dixie game preserve and a new section of Tarowan Paragonah will open north of the road to Little Valleys for the first time. Cedar City and Beaver host allied celebrations including shooting contests and dances with prizes, merchants contributing items from cash to groceries for winners with dance tickets.
The district holds a teachers institute Saturday with sessions at 10 and 11 30 am lunch and program at 1230 pm and 215 pm a reception at 6 pm at the high school department. James Robinson boards of education will preside at 730 pm with state education officials including B K Farnsworth stockbank Noall and others attending and a dance to follow.
L Nelson Marsden made a short business trip to East Lake City over the weekend to attend several conference meetings.
Word from Mrs Rose Kyatt now in Washington reports her condition has improved after weeks of critical illness and her family holds hopeful expectations for her recovery.
Mr and Mrs Frank Dyman are in Salt Lake City with their son Kenneth who is under a doctor's care. Reports on the boy’s condition from his doctors are rather encouraging and he is accompanied by his grandfather Bayl.
A Republican primary is called in Parowan City to nominate a full city ticket for the upcoming election. The meeting will be held in the County Courtroom on Monday October 16 1933 at 7 o’clock. Officers to be elected include four year terms for mayor and three one year terms for councilmen treasurer and recorder. L Nelson Marsden precinct chairman and Clair Hulet secretary dated October 13 1933.
Kanarra becomes the fourth incorporated town in the county after the Board of County Commissioners designated it a town organization. The move followed a petition signed by 82 qualified voters asking for incorporation to borrow money from the NRA for water system improvements. The town board will have five members with a president acting as mayor and appointed clerks and treasurer.
Officials in Beaver and Iron counties will pause new road projects until after the deer hunting season. Cedar City Nevada Vine road funds of 30000 will wait for surveys by a Bureau of Public Roads engineer and a state road official. Five thousand dollars from gasoline tax will be divided between the Farowan Y and Little Creek roads as authorities assess priorities. A change in the Little Creek Bear Valley patrolman role sees Cacius Thornton replace Stanley Prothero around early December.
The Bee Hive girls of Parowan East Ward elected officers for the year last Tuesday in Mutual. Officers include President Laurel Lowder, Vice President La Rue Vans, Secretary Treasurer Meena Mitchell, and Repair Norma Bentley.
GW Ward from Rush Laka notes indications of a tough winter for sheep men due to a dry season and scarce feed. He warns of a real menace from copperas? and mentions conditions easing in Long Beach after Mr Stogs Hyatt’s return. An earthquake felt recently added rare excitement to the area.
Miss Marjorie Rasmussen of this city married Burton Banks of Minersville in Beaver with county clerk Wm. Miller officiating. Bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Hasniuseen, is a popular local girl. Groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Randall Banks, has lived here part time. home is Minersville. After a brief visit in Beaver County, Banks returned to Forest Service CCC work in Arizona. Rasmussen remains with her family for a short time. A shower was held at the grandparents home, with more than twenty friends giving gifts. The Times extend congratulations.
The Bad Ward Relief Society announces its annual ward conference will be held Sunday afternoon. Bishop W L Adams urged members to attend and noted that a public address amplifying system is being installed in the church to improve sound.
